The Reserve Bank of India invites applications from eligible candidates for  610  posts of “Assistant” in various offices of the Bank. Selection for the post will be through a country -wide competitive Examination in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview.

Salary : 

Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs 14650/-  per month (i.e. Rs 13150 plus two advance increments  admissible to graduates only) in the scale of 13150- 750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)-26200-1300 (2)-28800-1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years) and other allowances , viz. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. as admissible from time to time. 

At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately Rs. 32124/-

Eligibility Criteria :

(a) Age (as on 08.11.2016) : Between 20 and 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 08/11/1988 and not later than 07/11/1996 (both days including) are only eligible to apply

(b) Educational Qualifications (as on 07.11.2016):

i) At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

ii) A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.

iii) Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office

2. Main Examination – 200 marks

3. Interview – 35 marks

Selection Procedure:

1. The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account.

2. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam during Nov 2016 to Mar 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidate in their application form).

3. SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages :

3.1 Stage I test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day

3.2 Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).

4. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit depending on the number of vacancies.

5. Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstance.

6. Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the call up officer of the SSB on receipt of call up letter.

7. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests.

8. AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for that type of commission.

4. Candidates studying in final year of engineering must complete all the exam formalities including written, practicals, projects, backlogs, viva voce etc for award of qualifying BE/B.Tech degree before 01 Apr 2017 failing which their candidature is liable to be cancelled.


Selection Procedure :

1. Short listing of Applications based on cut-off percentage

2. SSB Interview

3. Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at Selection Interview Location Centres : Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka)

4. Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same date. Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival.

5. Call Letter For SSC(T)-48 and SSCW(T)-19 :

6. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued through candidate’s registered e-mail id and through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and no request for changes are entertained in this regard.

Date of Interview: Interviews will be held in Nov/Dec 2016 onwards. (Tentative)



Documents to be carried to the Selection Center by the candidate :

(i) One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and affixed with self attested photograph.

(ii) Self attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate for age proof.

(iii) Self attested copy of 12th Class Certificate & Marksheet.

(iv) Self attested copy of Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree.

(v) Self attested copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters.

(vi) Certificate from the Principal/Head of the Institution stating that the candidate is in final year and final exams will be over by 01 Apr 2017 for final year appearing candidates.

(vii) Equivalence certificate from the concerned university to claim equivalence to the notified stream.

(viii) All certificates in original. Originals will be returned after verification at the Service Selection Centre itself. Any candidate who does not carry these entire documents for the SSB interview, his candidature will be cancelled.

The second copy of the printout of online application is to be retained by the candidate for his reference. No need to send any hard copy to DG Recruiting Candidates must submit only one application. 

Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature.
